Every so often I feel the urge to create a new fairy, and this beautiful girl was very much inspired by my cabin fever and the late March desire for Spring!
I had an entirely different color scheme and background in mind when this piece was first sketched. But, as I often find when painting, I needed to get out of the subject’s way and the painting became something else entirely. Her call of Spring obviously worked. She has only been complete for a handful of days, and I am now enjoying gorgeous sunshine and robins hopping around baby shoots of green grass.
