The Owl’s Flight Chronicles
My Chronicles…the stories that danced with me through the creative process
…the thoughts that linger behind the images
Winston’s Journey (detail)
Rhapsody
You can almost hear the music that she is dancing to, and sense the joy that moves her spirit. Her colorful, velvety gown shimmers and enhances her graceful expression of celebration. 11" x 14" acrylic & oil on stretched canvas.
His Jurisdiction
A special commission and Father's Day surprise for a family friend and fellow dragon lover. He had shown me a photo of a blue dragon statue years ago, and I took that idea and expanded upon it. This wise old dragon is much inspired by the work of Ciruelo Cabral. (In...
Patience
Candles have burned down through her hours of waiting, but only her feathered friends have come to enjoy her company. Is she waiting for something or someone on this moonlit night?
What the Crow Saw
This painting is based on a story written about the creation of the world, from the perspective of the crow. He sits atop a high rock and overlooks a lush, unspoiled Eden. 16" x 20" acrylic on stretched canvas
Tina’s Fairy
This piece was based on a drawing requested by a friend who enjoy's Amy Brown's artwork. Tina picked out every detail from the fairy's pose to the color of her gown. It was to eventually become her tattoo. I added the "Theresa Flair", put it on canvas and surprised...
Owl’s Flight Sign
The Owl's Flight sign that I painted and hung above our shop, Beyond, in Bonners Ferry.
Storm Weaver
This water spirit is the Storm Weaver. She brings the turbulence to the waters and atmosphere when the time is right. Conjuring up powerful winds and roaring waves...calming them again when her duty is done. 11" x 14" acrylic on stretched canvas.
Comfort
This sweet faced, young mother, with her Rapunzel-like hair, cuddles her young one close. She takes as much comfort in her child's presence as he does in hers.
Sun Worship
Sirens of the Sea. Two gorgeous mermaids enjoying the last warming rays of the sun. One blonde; one a redhead...each is glorious in her own beauty. 16" x 20" acrylic on stretched canvas.
On the Prowl
I don't believe all fairies are sweetness and light. Clad in peacock feathers and gossamer wings, this exotic fairy is definitely on the hunt...but what exactly do fairies hunt?? 11" x 14" acrylic on stretched canvas
Owl Speak
Out for a moonlight stroll, obviously dressed for an evening revel, this beautiful fairy stops to chat with a long-time friend. 11" x 14" acrylic on stretched canvas
Snow
The first snowfall of the year is always magical, and this time around it inspired me to capture on canvas the turnings of my whimsical mind. Is this robed guardian of the forest simply enjoying the snowflakes, or did she call them into being? 11" x 14" acrylic on...
Shy
This young woman with the striking blue eyes was fun to paint. It was not intended... but she has just a hint of mischief lurking around the corners of her mouth. She is bashful... but you get the idea that maybe not for long! 9" x 12" acrylic
The Undine
The Undine (Latin: Unda — a wave), also called ondines, are water elementals or spirits. Like all nymphs, they are very beautiful, and immortal. However, should one fall in love with a mortal man and bear his child, she will lose her immortality. This legend always...
