This painting was an experiment that turned out well. I was playing with a new medium that adds texture to the paint as it dries. The feathers on this vibrantly colored bird have amazing dimension. I intended this piece to be a simple practice canvas, but loved the way it turned out and it continues to be one of my favorites.
